Overview

skyRev is Skypoint’s revenue-cycle operations app for practices that bill through AdvancedMD. It combines eligibility (271) checks, charge slips, charge rules, analytics, and ERA review so billing teams catch missed dollars before they leave AR.

The principle: the system prepares; a person attests. Charge slips are validated against AdvancedMD before they post, and ERA corrections are approval-gated, never silently auto-posted.

How It Works

Sync the practice

Appointments, patients, notes, and charges are pulled from AdvancedMD; 271 checks run only for patients with live appointments.

Build and rule the slip

Signed notes become charge slips, and configurable charge rules apply modifiers, J-codes, and payer/plan patterns before anyone posts.

Review, edit, post

Coders review and edit slips, then Approve & Post to AdvancedMD. Posting stops on incomplete data and shows AdvancedMD’s rejection reason on failure.

Protect the ERA

Unposted ERAs are scanned for lines whose write-off equals the full charge, the pattern that silently drops a claim from AR. A correction plan can be scheduled; execute runs only after approval.

Eligibility 271

Coverage checks against live appointments; reports list only patients actually checked. Runs for several offices are queued and processed a few offices at a time; a queued run shows Queued and can be stopped, and failed syncs can be retried.

Charge slips

Generate slips from signed notes, edit lines with per-line errors and history, retry posts, and export to CSV.

Charge rules

Payer, plan, and state rules for modifiers, non-billable codes, secondary insurance, telehealth conversion, and G-code bundling fire before post.

Analytics

Revenue by state, provider, CPT, and pipeline health, filtered by period and based on visit date or signed date. Export the page as CSV.

ERA Scrubber

Read-only scan of unposted ERAs that flags full-charge write-offs on an auditable worklist with Excel/CSV export.

ERA corrections (gated)

Execute is approval-only, re-checks preconditions, and leaves an audit row. skyRev does not turn on AdvancedMD auto-post.

Audit & access

Audit log of posts, edits, and ERA actions, three-role access management, and failure email alerts under Settings → General: administrators turn alerts on and list up to 20 recipients, who are emailed when charge-slip syncs or eligibility runs fail, with a link to the relevant Syncs page. Data Browser filters apply immediately and explain any error clearly.

Some payer ERAs auto-adjust 100% of the charge; posted as-is, the claim drops out of AR and the denial is silently accepted.

skyRev:

1. Enumerates unposted checks per office
2. Reads line detail (charge, write-off, payment, CARC/RARC, payer, CPT)
3. Flags write-off == charge
4. Puts those lines on a worklist with an Excel report

Write path: once a person approves, the write-off amount is cleared so the balance survives; the write-off code is left untouched. Success is measured in recovered dollars AR can still work.
